Most of what you do in a day is built from a handful of movements. Getting up from a chair is a squat. Picking a bag off the floor is a hinge. Lifting a suitcase into the overhead locker is a push. Opening a heavy door is a pull. Bringing the shopping home is a carry.
Why we start with patterns
Train these patterns well and everyday life gets easier. That is why every programme at the studio starts here, before we add load, speed or complexity.
- Squat — strong legs and hips for stairs, sitting and standing.
- Hinge — a strong back and glutes for lifting safely.
- Push — shoulders and arms that can press and brace.
- Pull — an upper back that keeps your posture tall.
- Carry — grip and core that hold everything together.
New to training? Our Foundations class teaches all five, one step at a time.
